This one-day course prepares Basic First Aid  attendants and Intermediate First Aid attendants with the skills and knowledge needed to transport injured or ill workers to medical aid. Participants are required to perform spinal immobilization and patient transport skills as outlined in the Work Safe BC Transportation Endorsement Guide and Training Manual.

Topics Covered

Duration: 8 Hours

Prerequisites: Hold a valid Basic First Aid or Intermediate First Aid, Be a minimum of 16 years old, Be in good health & physical condition (course is physically demanding)

Transportation Endorsement Includes:

  • Role and duty of the Basic/Intermediate FA attendant 
  • Circle of Care concept, SETUP scene assessment and mechanism of injury
  • Primary and secondary assessments, including the ABC´s – Airway, Breathing, Circulation, along with history taking
  • Patient positioning and packaging
  • Assessing for Breathing
  • Plenty of hands-on practice and scenarios
